Early labor?

I’m 39 weeks 5 days today. I was woken up by period like cramps mixed with the urge to poop at 5 this am. My mucous plug came out and have been having lower abdominal cramps on and off ever since. Is this a sign of early labor? Cramps are lasting ~40-50 seconds.
