Swimming?

Can I take my 3 week old swimming in a pool? I live in the eastern area and its during this nasty heat wave, our house isnt fully air conditioned and were just a little warm! I wont keep her in the pool long, and we will be in the shade.. as we will go in my parents air conditioned house after maybe 10 minutes. Chlorine hasnt been added for 2 days. We though about putting water in the middle of the circular raft so shes not fully in the water but fully out either.

Way too hot for her to be outside hanging out and I wouldn’t put my 3 week old in a pool. Too young. Maybe just hang out inside your moms house where it’s cool? Or get a box fan.

My 5 wk old has been in the pool 4 times already. She only goes in our pool and she has been fine.

My lo has been in the pool 2 times already my husband took her in because I'm too scared to go in not knowing if I'm healed yet or not. She liked it the first time the 2nd time she cried her little head off... I keep her sun hat on her head too, and 9nly for a few minutes at a time!

We took our baby out on the boat the 4th of July, before that we had a doctors appointment, I asked his doctor and he said keep him well covered. I'm also formula feeding and put his milk in the cooler for a bit. We didn't go in the water, we just hung out at the island in Florida.

My son is 6w tomorrow, but we still haven’t gone to the pool because of this heat. We’re in NC and we have had temperatures between 100-115 with the heat index so we stay inside. I’ve been told it’s fine to take them swimming, but make sure you have the proper gear. Outdoor pools are better than indoors I guess, and make sure you have shade because apparently you’re not really supposed to use sunscreen on them when they’re this young.
