Is it over?

When you've been going through a rough patch with you partner. And you get a txt saying "I do care. I'l always care about you no matter what happens" how would you take that message? By saying no matter what happens, is he saying he's done? Or am I just thinking the worst here?

He mentioned earlier he wants us to do something next weekend, I'm not sure if it's because we have a baby and live together so he's trying to keep the peace, or not. He's a hard person to work out. Asking him outright will make him close up
