Why do people post pics of kids on fb

Question

My question that I’ve always wanted answered is why do parents post pictures of their kids naked on Facebook? Either being born or  in the bath? I know it’s not to be sexual but  don’t they want to protect their kids since that’s private? I’d never post pictures of my daughter naked on fb but just curious on why some do? Please don’t be rude as I’m just asking a question.

It's everyone's opinion, and it's based on age in my opinion. Also, people should keep their Facebook's private and not just add anyone as their friend. If they follow the right precautions and they are cute baby bath pics, I don't see why it's such a big deal.

I worked in this area in social services so I unfortunately know too much. There are groups of predators that join moms groups on Facebook posing to be other moms, but they collect photos of naked babies as part of fetish and child pornography groups. It's not just bath, but they post pictures of things like diapers rashes, and these disgusting excuse for human beings get off on it. I think the moms share these things very innocently because they're adorable pictures, but unfortunately it isn't always safe.

I think that some parents are just so proud of their baby and want other people to feel that way too so they post the pictures they like. They don’t think about the possibility of someone getting a hold of a picture of their baby naked. I’ll definitely be posting pictures of my baby when she’s born, but if her privates are showing I’m going edit the pictures to put a sticker over them so they can’t be seen before I post them. 😊

I wouldn’t post naked pics of myself on Facebook, why would I post naked pics of my son??? I don’t understand how people can just post pics of their naked babies and not even have a doubt in their mind

I actually get annoyed by this. Those poor children will realize one day when they’re old enough to be on Facebook themselves, that they’ve already been on their since birth with no choice in the matter. Those photos stay online forever. Having a family and children should be private from the internet.. too sketchy these days

I will never do that. People are creeps and anyone could share that photo. Friends/family can screen shot it and share it and at that point I can't control it. I can however control what I post and how often. I rarely post my child. I don't need people all up in my business. I have some family on there that never see my child but love getting photos to brag to friends about. The important people in my life get a text privately of my child and her milestone moments. Those people don't post to Facebook.

I will not be posting very many pics of my LO on my social media let alone showing their private parts 🤦🏼‍♀️ I know people do it thinking it’s cute but putting my kids pictures out there is just so unsettling to me. Especially the people who post literally Everything that they do without any privacy restrictions. I’m young but am definitely not involved with most people my age whose lives revolve around social media. I’m all for people showing off their babes cuz who wouldn’t but to an extent and within reason. I’m hoping I can teach my daughter that her life is not all about how many likes or views one can get on social media but unfortunately that is what this world has come to 😭

We don’t post photos of our son’s genitals but we have posted bath tub photos of his upper body. Facebook has taken down fully nude photos of children.
