Breastfeeding with puffy nipples?

Hi all, I’m going to be a first time mum in November and I was just wondering if I would be able to breastfeed with puffy areolas? I have googled extensively and not found any answers and having not breastfed before I have no clue. It is something I would really like to do, thankyou for any help!!

Nipple/boob shape and size has no bearing on your ability to breastfeed

You can breastfeed with all kind of size and shapes of breasts. But if you have cone shaped breasts and puffy areolas it can be that you have breast Hypoplasia/Insufficient Glandular Tissue.

Before formula every single baby ever was breast fed so I’m sure you’ll be fine

I believe you can breastfeed with any type of nipples. Talk to your OB about your concerns. When I was pregnant and delivered my first son the lactation consultant came in and told me I had flat nipples (I never even knew)! I was so nervous that I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed and she totally put my mind at ease. I ended up using a nipple shield with my first son for close to a year. I’m breastfeeding my second son with a nipple shield and he seems to prefer it also at 5 weeks.
