D&C - Painful?

Ladies, can you please tell me your D&C experiences? How long did it take? Was it painful?

I had a d&c done at a women's clinic for a missed miscarriage. The hospital wanted me to wait it out and I didn't want to , so I went to a clinic
You are given a sedative (not put to sleep) to help with pain and diminish the memories of the incident. 
The procedure was maybe 10 mins. Then a recovery room with Advil and a heat pack.
I recovered well, barely any bleeding and my normal period came back within 28 days. Overall the best experience I could have had for having to go through that. Everyone was so so sweet and comforting, they played the radio in the room and had movies on in the waiting room. I was about 10 weeks at the time of the d&c for the miscarriage.

They put you to sleep and you feel nothing. Just emotionally challenging. You will be fine x

I was put to sleep for both of mine. After my first one, I felt like I’d Been hit by a bus. Literally hurting from head to toe.  After my second one I felt fairly well, I was still in the hospital afterwards getting a blood transfusion due to severe hemorrhaging.

I had my D&C this May. It was two weeks of recovery it’s like having a period with bad cramps. Riding in the car and walking was very hard. I could only stay on my feet for five mins and I could only sit down for 10 mins before I had to lay down. I couldn’t work for two weeks. I was a host and working is part of my job so waking was hard for a week after my two weeks.

I was awake but given medicine to numb me. Didn’t feel it and it seemed very quick! No pain. Barely any spotting after. Made my MC a lot easier emotionally tbh

The procedure took no time maybe 15-20 minutes it takes longer for anesthesia to wear off. I felt very minimal cramping I took one ibuprofen and was up doing my regular thing the day following. I had minimal bleeding maybe 2 days. I think the mental recovery is harder for sure! Hope that helps!

I've had 4 unfortunately. The procedure itself is about 20-30 minutes but I was in the hospital for probably 4 ish hours? The nurses were all so accommodating and respectful before hand. Afterwards they provided me with pain meds for 3 days and after those 3 days ibuprofen and tylenol were just fine. I would definitely expect to be in bed for a day or two
