When did your doctor start checking your cervix? I’m 38w4d and my doc is refusing to check me. I had an appointment at 38w1d and during it I asked to be checked and when we could start doing membrane sweeping and her response was “40 weeks I’m not going to make an exception” Okay, fair. I can understand membrane sweeping at 40 weeks even though she previously told me she would do it at 38 but checking my cervix? Not until 40 weeks? After this, she proceeded to ask how far along I’d be at our next appointment, I told her 38w6d and she said “if no ones in labour I’ll consider checking your cervix” This rubs me the wrong way.. is it normal for them not to check? I should mention it’s a midwife. Her and I always seem to butt heads, I dread going to her appointments. I was contemplating calling my other midwife and complaining about her but this is my first baby so I don’t want to complain about something that is normal practice for docs/midwives.
