If you’ve had both, do you prefer VB or C-sec?

I had a very difficult vaginal birth with my first child, and now I’m weighing the pros and cons of a scheduled C section for my second. For those who have had both, which did you prefer and why?

Both, purely because the only thing that matters is the safety of your child getting here, one might be more necessary than the other for this. They’re both super valuable and everyone’s recovery for either is different.

I meant to hit vaginal birth. A C-section is a major surgery, and a bitch to recover from. Vaginal is the way to go.

Had emergency c.s with my first. Had vbac with my second. Im keeping both options open because delivery is unpredictable. 
If i had to choose, vaginal. Faster recovery and LOs need me, and I need to take care of my responsibilities.

I've had 2 vaginal births and 2 c sections. My first vaginal birth was a 4th degree tear with lots of bleeding. I wondered if a c section would have been better. 2nd vaginal birth was way easier. No tear, much easier pushing. 3rd baby was a c section and answered my question....NO it is not better than a vaginal birth with a tear. I absolutely hated my c section and the recovery was a lot harder than I thought, especially with a toddler to take care of. My 4th was my biggest baby and dr said for sure I would tear, I didn't care, I wanted a vbac instead of another c section. But unfortunately I ended up in another c section. That was a year ago and I just had surgery to correct a hernia from that c section. So I definitely wouldn't opt for a c section unless you have to for safety reasons.

I had a planned CS for my first (he was breech). It went wonderfully. I have the option of a VBAC with my current pregnancy but I don’t think I’m going to do it. While my doctors and hospital is great, I live in a small town and the next towns are 1.5 hours away. My hospital is not a fully equipped hospital (no NICU and not for serious emergencies). If something were to go seriously wrong they would have to life flight me to the next nearest hospital to save my life or my baby’s life so I don’t think that is a risk I am willing to take.

I had vaginal with my first and emergency c section with my second. I'm open to either as both recovery for me was similar. I was fine and walking after my csection and only took ibuprofen for 3 days but the pain was there and the same for my vaginal birth there was pain. Now if I really really had to pick probably a vaginal because I have two kids at home who also need mommy and a toddler who doesn't understand when mommy has a booboo so a csection wouldn't work.

I recovered fast with both, but decided I’m going for a c section instead. My vaginal birth was a miscarriage/stillborn (20w) so he was small, that’s probably why it was ‘easy’. I don’t know why but I just don’t wanna do it again. I recovered fast with my c section so I’m ok to do it again 🙂 It’s a personal issue I’m having.
