Awake for wisdom tooth removal?

We're you awake for your wisdom tooth/teeth removal? Was it bad if you were?

no. i got all 4 taken out and they put me to sleep.

I was awake for mine and mine had to be cut out of my jaw because they had not come in yet. They had to break the bone above the teeth. 
I was awake for all of that. They just put me on gas as high as they could get it, which did not soothe or help in anyway it just incapacitated me. It was honestly traumatic and I’m glad it was once in a life time experience. if they give you an option to go to sleep, go tf to sleep

My dentist removed all 4 of mine but did it in two separate sessions. He just numbed me and I was completely fine.

Yes, removed two wisdom teeth with local anesthetic. Unless you have some odd medical problem being sedated isn't an option here. 
Was back to work an hour later, slight lisp while talking the first hours but otherwise absolutely no problems. The worst thing is the sound, but it's only for a few minutes.

2 out at a time. The first 2 took longer than the second. I recommend meal planning prior with soft foods or liquid meals so that you have what you need on hand afterwards.

I was wide awake and it was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. I was screaming in pain as she was pulling my tooth out. It was so bad.

i got all 4 removed but i was asleep.
my mom got a different tooth removed, just one, and was awake but she literally screamed and cried.
i recommend going to sleep. they give you the local anesthesia while you’re awake, put a mask on you and tell you to countdown from 10 and by the time you reach 8, you’re asleep. they extract and monitor you, and when you wake up it’s over.
you still have the same bleeding, no eating, swelling, etc. i just don’t see the purpose in being awake to feel so much pain and trauma with the same results!

I had 1 impacted tooth surgically removed while awake. It was a really quick procedure but uncomfortable af.
