Swim Lessons?

Question

Has anyone started swim lessons? I saw a baby younger than mine going for swim lessons and now I’m questioning if I should be doing that too... 
I tend to err on the overly cautious side so she hasn’t even been to the beach or the pool because I was waiting to hit 6 months so she can be lathered in sunscreen as she’s super pale. 
Are swim lessons even effective at 5-6 months? Nothing holds her attention very long...

We do. We love them. They can start at 8 weeks. My son was almost 3 months when we started. We’re learning to float and getting acquainted with the water.

Literally swim lessons are our favorite day of the week! We started 2 weeks ago. They really are just getting used to the water and it’s inside so we don’t have to worry about the sun!

For babies the main point of swim lessons is to teach them to survive if they fall into water. Its not like swim lessons for older children. If we had swim lessons for babies this young here I would 100% take my baby. From what I’ve read though it’s a little scary at first for the parents so I would read up on it for sure!

We’ve been doing baby swim classes since my son was 2 months old. He’s now 5 3/4 months and he has learned how to hold his breath and close his eyes when underwater for a brief period of time!
He loves going to his swimming class!

Our local school starts them at 3mos! We loved it and have been going since!

My LO looooves the pool. We want to start him in swim lessons soon, but we wanted him to get used to the water first. He’s been going to the pool since he was probably 3.5-4 ish months old. We put sunblock on him (ped said it’s fine) and haven’t had an issue. Definitely would prefer he wear sunblock than get a burn! Especially because I have a history of skin cancer and he’s fair just like me.

We are starting in 2 weeks and can’t wait. My grandma has a pool that we spend a lot of time in so I’m excited for my baby girl to get more acquainted with the water.
