Did you or are you going to get the TDAP Vaccine??

Question

I am trying to decide if I should or shouldn’t. Is it worth it? Should my husband get it too? What are you opinions? Any help would be appreciated! My husband and I read about the shot, but it didn’t really help us in our decision. I have several close friends who are anti-vaccine and several who are pro! So, I’m the uneducated middleman and can’t figure out what I want to do. Lol

Get it and make sure everyone who comes near your baby is vaccinated. And vaccinate your baby.

If you get the vaccine, your body will have the antibodies needed to avoid getting whooping cough (which trust me, you don’t want, pregnant or not). Because you share an immune system with your baby, they he or she will start to build an immunity to it, and will continue to receive those antibodies through your breastmilk if you decide to breastfeed, providing continued protection. 
Whooping cough is potentially fatal for young babies and at the very least scary for you and baby. Vaccinating yourself and those around you can save you pain, frustration, and even medical bills. 
I know that antivaxxers have lots of reasons to be against vaccinations, but personally, nothing I have heard outweighs the relief that I feel personally knowing that my baby is being protected from an illness that has caused so many deaths over the years!

Unless your anti-vaccine friends are doctors who have special education in reading : interpreting medical literature - PLEASE do not take medical advice from them when it comes to your growing baby/child.

i personally do not plan on getting it. it isn’t tested on pregnant women. i already know i will get half way murdered with saying it. but each to their own on what you chose to do. i always swore i would vaccinate my kids but now that i am pregnant, i have done my own personal research on the fda website of each pure ingredient on all vaccines. & i just encourage you to as well; just educate yourself, it’s a lot to read and soak in, but only you can make this decision for yourself and family.

I'm provax but am going to have the unpopular opinion here. No I don't plan on getting it (my midwives don't have a problem with that either). I got it a month before I got pregnant and don't feel comfortable getting it again while pregnant. Everyone who will be around my baby will have to be updated on it too. I did the same thing with my first baby.

I am vaccinated my husband was vaccinated and my kiddos will be too. I’m still not sure why it’s a debate. Not trying to fuel anyone’s fire but we had practically irradiated measles and now it’s coming back. The flu shot we never get but that’s because it’s more hit and miss. When I took microbiology it all made a ton of sense. Most vaccines are “not live” so they are essentially dead just introducing the virus or whatever into your body so your cells can identify and know what to fight and kill if it ever gets introduced again. Of course if the child has a certain allergy or immune system issue I would never suggest a vaccine but I really hope you can find some wholesome education to make a proper informed decision. I think the chicken pox is the only real “live” vaccine but most kids don’t have a reaction and some do. I just had my tDap booster with this baby and I had one with my son. Everything is fine and my husband has decided to get his just to be safe.

It protects your baby from a series of life threatening illnesses but one they stressed was whooping cough which is dangerous to get while pregnant and for baby once their born. I also got the flu shot in the beginning of my pregnancy and I will get another one before I deliver if it’s flu season.

Yes ! I am up to date technically but I will be getting it as recommended. I also work in healthcare so have higher exposure to things so for me it's extra important that I can protect myself and my baby from things. My mom who will be watching the baby when I go back to work and my husband will also get the vaccine
