It's MY fault

We found out on Thursday that baby girl has fluid in her kidneys. We're seeing a specialist and they are monitoring it and trying to figure out what's going on. (If it's just a blockage or possibly down syndrome)

So this weekend we went to visit my family because they live 7 hours away and it will probably be the last time we'll actually be able to make it down since I'm 29ws.

While visiting I tell my mom what the specialist said and this is her response is to say I need to quit drinking so many soda's and start drinking more water and juice. Specifically cranberry juice.

THIS WOMAN LIVES 7 HOURS AWAY FROM ME AND CLAIMS TO KNOW ABOUT MY EATING HABITS AND IS BLAMING ME FOR MY BABIES PROBLEMS!!

This leads to me trying to defend myself and her saying that I can't lie to her, that she knows me.

Then my 8 year old,of all people, jumps in and tells her," My momma doesn't drink soda. She only drinks water and Kool aid out of her purple cup with the straw."

That actual made her stop and apologize, but I'm still fuming over the fact that she blames me for something I can't help.

(Side note: My husband was outside so he wasn't there to defend me. And my 8 year old normally wouldn't jump into adult conversations but he's became very protective since finding out I'm pregnant and didn't want me to get upset)
