Frustrated

Elizabeth

So I went to the doctor last week for my annual exam. The only other test other than a pap smear that the doctor did was a urine pregnancy test. He proceeded to tell me that since I am 41 there is no possible chance I can get pregnant because women over 40 do not ovulate as they no longer have eggs available. He said he could do a blood test which I would have had to pay $500 out of pocket for because my insurance wouldn't cover it but it was pointless because it would just confirm what he was saying that I have no eggs left and would not be ovulating ever again. My periods are still like clock work they come on time every month like they always have no irregularities at all. Then I find out today that my brother's step mom who is in her lat 50's just found out she is pregnant. I sitting here like wth? My mom had a baby, the brother I just mentioned, at 39, my ex husband's current wife had a baby at 40 so am I to believe that because I am 41 and the doctor told me it isn't possible, that I will not be able to have another child. I have 3 from my first marriage already. My current husband had a child but she passed away at an early age from leukaemia. We have been trying and now I am just so frustrated because this gynecologist told me it isn't possible but yet I learn a woman in her late 50's is able to get pregnant. To say I'm upset is an understatement.
