Inconsistent period and BC, pregnant?

I’m a FTM so be gentle with me.

I’m 10 weeks PP, had an episiotomy and a c-section. I only bled for 3 weeks and then light bleeding here and there until 6 weeks I started bleeding heavier. I’m not sure if that was my period or just more pp bleeding. Since then I’ve had some brownish blood when I wipe, not enough to leave marks on my underwear, just when I wipe.

After the 6 weeks was up, husband and I had sex a couple of times using the pullout method because they told me I had to wait until 8 weeks for an IUD.

Well I’m coming up on the time I should get my period if that was my period at 6 weeks and nothing. I have my appointment for my IUD but will they do a pregnancy test first to confirm I’m not pregnant?

I’m breastfeeding so I’ve read that periods are inconsistent or not at all, but I’m just really confused. Anybody have any insight?
