What happens if i don’t wake up at same time each day?

Some mornings I wake up at 5am and can’t go back to sleep, others at 7am when my son wakes up. When do I temp if I’m supposed to temp at same time each day??

Alternatively, temp at both times for awhile to figure out how much variation there is. Some bodies are more sensitive than others. 
The better practice is to temp at exactly the same time, but in my case for example, I don’t see much temp variation when it’s at most 2 hours give or take from my normal 6:30am. I can still discern a thermal shift. If a temp is wildly off, like when I have to be up at 3:30am for a flight, I just don’t log it. I’ve been doing this for 6 years though.
If your body is more sensitive, then stick with the earlier time for the most consistent data.

Set it for 5am and then go back to sleep. My body learned how pretty quickly.
