cleaning nose piercing

hello everyone! i just got my nose pierced 3 days ago and this morning i woke up it was slightly sunken in so i pushed it up and a little blood and crust came off. i was wondering if this is because the way i’m cleaning it. my piercer said to take a cotton ball, soak it in wound wash and then put it on top of the piercing. i asked if i should clean the inside and she said no, which is really weird considering i’ve seen a bunch of people clean the inside. so do i clean the inside or not?
