Should I tell my boss to hurry up?
My date of hire is May 11th. Every year at my company we get an annual review and our direct boss takes us out to a lunch meeting to “discuss”. Mostly it’s just a good time to get out of the office, but your performance is discussed and any pay raises.
My boss is awesome to work for and he truly thinks I’m great at what I do. I always have a stellar review. My meeting this year didn’t happen until the end of June. Which is fine, it’s usually about a month after the actual day. However, he didn’t give me what my raise was going to be at the meeting. He said he had to think about it when he got back to the office and talk it over with the owner. It’s now the end of July and I still don’t have an answer. I asked him last week about it and he said it’s not forgotten, that he’s talking it over with the owner. Well the owner goes on vacation next week and I have a feeling it’s still not been discussed.
Should I give my boss a nudge? I honestly feel it’s completely unprofessional at this point. The point of the performance evaluation is to discuss exactly that. If I’m not getting a raise, I’d still like to know! Don’t drag it out...
How would you feel? Am I being unresonable?
