Ripp as a first name for son?

My SO wants to name our son Ripp and I love different names however I don’t think I can handle Ripp....? His favorite show is Yellowstone and one of the characters on there is named Rip Wheeler. And literally when he texted it to me I thought the man was having a heat stroke I immediately read RIP Rest In Peace. Is it too awkward? Does it flow off the tongue weird? Do you instantly think of rip a fart or am I just being difficult 😑

I can't see an adult professional being taken seriously with that kind of name, to be honest. I picture a guy on a motorcycle full of tattoos. There's nothing wrong with having tattoos and riding a motorcycle. But I think the name might be limiting him. And yes rip had a negative connotation. How about Ripley aka Rip? Philip aka Rip?

I would keep it as a nickname tho! Its original and I doubt anyone else would have that nickname. But as a legal first name..... that would be shitty

Truthfully I though the titled said "R.I.P as a first named son" when I read it fast. 
I've never heard it before though so if it's more common where you are maybe it would be associated with rip?
