Can I eat bleu cheese dressing and mayo if they’re pasteurized?

My family and I are going out for dinner tonight at a favorite restaurant of mine. Just wondering if I can get one of 2 of my preferred things tonight. One has bleu cheese dressing and one has a mayo. If they’re pasteurized are they ok to eat?

Fyi all dairy made in the USA is pasteurized. If it's imported then the label has to be checked. HOWEVER. With mayo. Store bought/packaged  is fine. But if the restaurant makes their own mayo with raw eggs, it's better to avoid. But most restaurants use packaged mayo especially chain restaurants.

A lot of restaurants make their own mayonnaise which would contain raw eggs so you might want to ask about that before you order it (if it has raw eggs in it). Also bleu cheese is usually not recommended because it’s a soft cheese but I guess if it’s pasteurized it’s ok 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not sure.

Totally fine if they’re pasteurized. As for fancy restaurants that make their own mayo, it’s best to steer clear unless the chef confirms that he/she used pasteurized eggs to make the mayo, tartar sauce, aioli, Caesar dressing, etc. I ate at plenty of Michelin star restaurants in San Francisco when I was pregnant and all of them confirmed that all of their cheeses were pasteurized and all of their sauces used pasteurized eggs, so I think it’s pretty common for chefs in the US to be very cautious, but it’s always best to ask!

I’ve ate blue cheese! My doctor said it was complete fine, but it seems like all doctors say different things. I don’t go crazy eating it though, but I’ve ALWAYS loved it with my wings so when I eat them I eat it.
