Any Teachers out there?? 🍎📚

Question

I have a couple questions, I start student teaching this year and since I’m getting so close to having my own classroom, I have no idea how to start planning. How do first year teachers prepare for their first year? How do they stock their classrooms and make them look and feel great? What do the districts/schools provide for you? What do you pay for out of your own money?? I just have so many questions! I’ve been stocking up on books wherever I can to create my own classroom library but I haven’t done much more than that! Any advice?

I usually stock on books and supplies bc you never know what assignments you’re gonna do... how much money you get depends on the school, some are ballers but some are not. As far as planning goes, always start off with all the objective you want your students to learn. And a rubric. And a timeline. And activities. 👍🏾

So of it depends on what level you’ll be teaching and what subject as well. Decorate your room with stuff that is relevant to what you teach (posters and such). If teaching younger children, bright and fun colors are a good way to go. 
As for planning, that’s somewhat what your student teaching time is for. You can ask the teacher you are in with questions about your first year of teaching and get ideas. You’ll also learn how to be confident in front of children when teaching (which is most definitely a skill).
Lastly, referring to what the district will or will not help you pay for. Districts will only provide you with bare essentials. Schools sometimes have classroom sets of books, depending on grade level. And sometimes classroom sets of calculators, again, depending on grade level and subject. You’re on your own for anything decorative or anything related to your subject matter. Teachers provide majority of stuff for their classroom and pay for it out of pocket.
This is stuff I learned from being a substitute teacher, but also from watching it as I grew up. Both of my parents were/are public educators.
