so i got my iud inserted on june 24. i started my period on july 8. ive been on my period since. is my period supposed to last this long or should i see my doctor.

I bled for about 3 weeks when I got mine back in January. I really didn’t except that! But everything is working normally now! But listen to your body! I cannot stress this enough! If you really feel like something is not right at least give your doctor a call. If you have any severe cramping or back pain that’s probably the only time I would get worried. Good luck! 😊

It depends on which type of IUD you have but from what my Dr. told me and what I've experienced with mine its completely normal to have your first few cycles last for a long time, my first one after I got mine 3 years ago lasted about a month. You should start to have shorter or even fewer periods depending on the type of IUD once your body gets used to it. But if it doesn't feel right you should contact your doctor just to be safe.
