Would you let him? (Read the description)

Leigh

My husband recently upgraded my wedding ring for our 10 year anniversary. It’s absolutely beautiful. I love it and it’s more than I could’ve ever asked for.

Today we went to the jewelry store to get it cleaned and he found out they got a new diamond in, it’s exactly what he was looking for the first time. It’s bigger, still as perfect as the one he bought (VVSI, EXCELLENT in every single aspect, and near colorless). For the size difference it’s $7k more.

We aren’t hurting for money by any means and he could easily pay the cash, walk away, and we wouldn’t realize the money is even missing. But, I feel selfish accepting an even bigger and more expensive ring. I feel like, I should just be completely grateful and happy with what I have (and I am!) but it feels like he really wants to do this, and I’m just... torn.

I’ve come from a very poor background, and now that I have this beautiful new house, new car, ring, etc- I just really struggle with not feeling guilt. We both work so hard for everything, but I never want to become the entitled person that “expects” these things.

So what would you do? “Allow” him to swap it out for this new ring? Or insist that I’m 10000% happy and want to keep what I have?

The ring I have:

The ring he wants to get (and the new band it would be set in)
