How long before you let visitors in after birth?

Our hospital has the golden hour policy after birth, but how long do you plan on waiting before letting anyone else in the room to meet the new baby? FTM here so we are trying to prepare our families for our birth plan and I honestly don’t know when I’ll want to let people in the room (we only want family visitors). Any advice, suggestions or what is your plan?

I have an aunty who thinks she's going to be waiting outside the room while I'm giving birth 😂 little does she know I won't be telling anyone I've given birth until I'm showered afterwards, then everyone and their mum can come

I would wait to see how you're feeling after. How your labor goes will have a big part. I've had friends that have planned to let friends and family come a few hours after the baby was born. A longer than anticipated labor and some complications and that turned into "a come visit us at home once we are settled " when my daughter was born, we waited a few hours. She was born at 130 and we let people pop in around 5/6. She was nursing well and we were doing great so we figured it was no biggie.  
I have a few friends and some family that I'm allowing to come visit. I'll wait a few hours before I let someone visit. Just depends on how the baby is doing and our recovery.

We are just having our parents visit at the hospital. They will have to wait until we are done with the first feeding and everything first.

I let my Mom and MIL in during the golden hour for a few minute because I was in labor for 2 days. They stayed about 10 minutes and then left. I didn’t see anyone until the next morning at like 9am. I think it will be dependent on what time you give birth, how long you were in labor, and how you feel.

We have decided to let just our Mom’s come to the hospital for now.  I am having a c-section and do not know how I will feel afterwards.  Also, they have a lactation consultant in the hospital so I want to take full advantage of them while I am there.  Everyone else can see the baby when we get home.

Probably a few hours after. I don’t mind my immediate family visiting right away, they are an awesome support system in my life

Wait until after delivery to make this decision. Some labors are easy and quick, and you feel up to company right away. Others are long and leave you feeling like shit. No one wants to have to entertain people when you feel like garbage. Family and friends can always come see baby after you go home too.

We just waited the hour or so, I think. After baby had been fed and weighed and stuff.
The only people we had visit were my parents/siblings though. My husband's family is out of state so it's just my side at the hospital.

Depends on you and how you are feeling. With my son we had visitors shortly after we moved to the postpartum room and once we got settled in there we let friends and family come up to visit but it is honestly up to how you are feeling and how much time you want before people bombard you.
