Umbilical stump fell off today. Is this normal?

Baby is 1 week old. Her stump fell off this morning and belly button looked ok. Now there’s some blood on it. Is this normal or should I call her doctor? If it’s normal how do I treat/care for this?

My dr said it’s normal and to leave it alone. When you give them a bath wipe it but don’t scrub the blood out just let it disappear with a few baths.

Totally normal! Leave it alone, or else gently wipe it with a warm wash cloth.  My son's fell off and looked like that. I gently wiped it and it cleaned up great. That was until I put pants on him for the first time instead of full body PJs- and the waistband irritated it again.
