My moms wedding is 11/11 my induction date is 11/7 she wants me to be in the wedding. I keep telling her I don’t know what if I don’t have her that day, what if I have a c- section and it isn’t guaranteed it will be on the 7th. With my first I was induced in the 21st of February and didn’t have her until 23rd. I am just like what happens if I do have a c-section I’m not going to want to be in a wedding.. right? Never mind trying to buy a dress based on just having a baby..

Yeah, no. Sorry mom. Not happening. Tell her you love and support her and will happily participate in whatever pre-wedding stuff you feel up to, but I would -1000% plan on being in that wedding if I were you.

Can you have the induction maybe a day or two after the wedding? There’s zero chance I’d plan to be in a wedding even four days after giving birth (assuming your baby is born on 11/7 and not even later) so I’d just say absolutely no to your mom. If you can schedule the induction a little later then MAYBE but your mom must understand that postpartum can be a really difficult time and if she’s expecting you to be there it might not happen.

She of all poeple should really rethink that request. Anyone with half a braincell knows having a baby isnt a walk in the park. Let alone if theres any complications or baby comes later. You may honestly not be able to go at all. Its life, shes going to have to step back from being bridezilla a moment and realize you have other things going on in your life. Things that, sorry, are more important than her wedding day. Finding a dress. Dealing with being post partum and juggling a newborn at a wedding are just extra stressors you honestly dont need to have. She should respect that as your mom. You can be happy for her, but not be present that day. Have domeone send you pictures/videos. Offer to help in things leading up to the big day if your up to it. But your mom shouldnt expect you to just drop everything to be at her wedding. Not that soon after having a baby.

I was induced 8/2 and my baby wasn’t born until 8/4, ended up having a csection and didn’t go home until 8/6. Even if it goes super fast and baby comes right away I would still tell her I wasn’t up to it, hopefully she would understand. Good luck! People forget what that first bit with a newborn is really like 😴

Um...yeah...hell no! I'm not attending 3 weddings this fall that are before/after my due date...and Im talking a few weeks after the due date. No way I'd be able to be in a wedding party a few days after giving birth!

My first baby was born on 4/2 and I went to a wedding on 4/7. I just did the ceremony, dinner and left right after. I was fine but goodness I wasn’t in it!

I think I’m going to tell her if she wants to have it An risk us not being there that’s okay, but if she does she should move it to next year because she wants it on 11/11. It’s totally up to her I wouldn’t be upset at all... I just don’t want a day or 2 day old baby if we did even get out on time out an about. I know she would regret going through with it an then to find out we can’t be there an have no pictures an all with us. I will see what she decides.
