Anyone else slightly annoyed with family reaction to gender?

We just found out we’re having girl #2! We would have loved to have a boy but a girl is so exciting too!! I love the idea of my daughter having a sister because I don’t. Most family we’ve called has made little comments like “oh no!” “Looks like you’ll have to keep trying for a boy!” And while it’s in a joking tone I can hear the disappointment 😳 Anyone have this problem? I didn’t realize there was so much pressure to have both genders 🙈

I have two boys and am 15 weeks pregnant with what I THINK is a boy. I tell everyone I think it’s a boy and they are all “oh... no, it’s a girl. You’re having a girl. It’s not a boy” and I can’t help but feel that on our gender reveal day (the 9th) if a blue balloon pops out of the box, there will be a lot of disappointment in the room. Which sucks cause a baby is a baby. I don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl, I just want my healthy, perfect little baby.

We’ve only told my mom, and that’s because she said it was “offensive” that we weren’t telling her, and wanted her to be surprised with everyone else. Her only response was that it’ll be easier for her to buy things. 
In my head i was like...

I have no idea what that meant. But i’m not looking forward to telling anyone we have having another little boy. 😕
At least we (mommy, daddy and big brother) will love him more.

When we were pregnant with Baby number 2 we almost didn't want to find out the sex for this exact reason. But we did, and it was the opposite gender to what we already had and so many people commented "you have 1 of each you're done now" "no need to have any more now" etc. But that annoyed me just as much! People are always going to have an opinion regardless of how it goes 😏🤷‍♀️

This happened with us as well . We have two girls and now a third on the way and everyone is already joking about how this one needs to be a boy “you gotta have your boy “ 🙄 I mean I would love a boy but if it’s another beautiful girl then that’s what’s meant to be lol

That's so annoying and one of the reasons we are not finding out gender. There are too many expectations placed on whatever the baby's sex is.

We’re having our first boy and are so excited but I felt the same about some of our family reactions. He will be the third boy in the family and I think they were hoping for first girl. I’m kind of annoyed for him 😂 he deserves all the excitement! Not just ‘oh another boy’ etc

My husband's family has only little girls, so there's a lot of pressure from that side to have a little boy. We're team green, so we haven't experienced any disappointment yet, but it'll come if we have a girl.

It’s amazing to me how strong people still hold to their gender stereotypes to actually have any range of tone in gender (which is actually the sex) disappointment. 🙄
