Getting an IUD tomorrow!!!!!

Hi! So I’m 16 and I’ve been sexually active for about 5 months with my boyfriend of almost a year. My mom and dad know and just want me to be responsible and safe which we have been but recently I don’t know why we got scared a bunch of times because of condom slip ups or I wasn’t taking my pill (because I’m very forgetful) also I have been on the pill for a year and a half and it’s honestly worked great I just need something that’s a little less... daily work? Anyways, me and my mom went to my adolescent physician who helps me with puberty and woman hood ( I mainly started seeing her because I have really reoccurring breast discharge which we still haven’t solved but we might think it’s because of my pill). I asked my doctor about getting an IUD and her response was “omg we love IUDs”. That was 3 weeks ago and I’m getting my IUD tomorrow and I’m super nervous. No one has really told me anything about it. Does it hurt? Will i be able to have sex after? Will my boyfriend be able to feel the strings? I’m on my period right now will that affect the placement of the after care? Someone please help with answers!!
