Did anyone try Evening Primrose oil??

I took 2 orally and 2 vaginally every night from about 34 weeks to prevent tearing. I don’t believe it helps you dilate or go into labour but it definitely helps prevent tearing by keeping your skin really soft and hydrated. Both my kids where overdue and long labours, but I didn’t tear with either and they where decent sized baby’s

I started EPO orally at 32 weeks with my second, just one 1000mg capsule every night. At 36 weeks, I started inserting the capsule vaginally. I would poke a hole in one end with a sterile needle and insert as far back as I could (if you do this, wear panty liners because it is MESSY). I ended up having to be induced at 40 weeks. I was only 1.5cm dilated and 50% effaced and had already had 3 membrane sweeps as well. 
With my first, I had one membrane sweep and it worked. Never did any of the natural methods and was 4cm dilated by the time I made it to the hospital. 
I don’t plan on doing it with this one, it’s just too messy and smelly and honestly didn’t seem to work or help at all. I still had a 2nd degree tear too. 🙄

I used it vaginally during the last few weeks of my first 2 pregnancies. I inserted 2 capsules every night at bed. I think it helped with tearing/ healing. I plan on doing it again with this one!
