Anxiety over nanny — advice welcome

Jill

We have hired a nanny for our 15 week old who starts Monday when I go back to work. She is a sweet woman with lots of experience but I am still struggling so much. We have the baby on a great sleep and eat schedule, which sometimes means we gently wake him from his naps when it’s time to eat. He wakes up smiling and sweet, doesn’t cry. He loves his schedule and has slept 11 hours per night since he was 8 weeks old because of it. But she seems to think it’s ridiculous to wake a sleeping baby. She also mentioned silly things like wanting to bathe him during the day (we bathe him every night before bed), wanting to change his clothes 2-4 times per day, and she sort of scoffs when I mention he needs to do a ton of tummy time each day. She also mentioned wanting to take him to library story times but I don’t want her driving with him yet, so she suggested she could take him on the bus, which I also don’t want.

I think a lot of this is my own anxiety about leaving him with someone else and I know I should probably just be more firm (in a nice way) about what I want. But I’m stressing out so much. Any advice about hiring a nanny for the first time is welcome. Thank you!!
