What does a ++ OPK actually mean?

Question

I just started using OPKs last month and never got a positive until today. I’ve read about it online and also on the instructions that come in the box....but what exactly does it mean when you get a positive opk? 
Does it mean you are ABOUT to ovulate?....that you’re already ovulating?. When’s the best time to have sex after you get a positive? 
I’m not absolutely clear in that stuff...?!🤷🏻‍♀️

It means that you’re likely going to ovulate in the next 12-36 hours (usually like 24 hours). So it gives you your most fertile day, since it’s best to BD just before and on the day you actually ovulate
