Do people seriously consider it poor Etiquette to have more than one baby shower?

I’m just reading a thread in a moms group on Facebook and I’m mind-blown at the fact that people care how many baby showers other people have. If you don’t want to go, just decline the invite 🤨

I consider it poor etiquette to put your nose in other peoples business. Just had my best friend baby shower Sunday. This is her second kid, a boy (her first is a girl) and they are going to be 5 years apart. Her MIL bitched the whole time about how rude it was to have a shower for a second kid, blah, blah, blah, but her fat ass was first in line for cake.  You're celebrating a life, it would be like getting upset when people celebrate a birthday. If you don't want to come to my celebration for my child, the first kid or the 12th, stay your cranky butt home!

Do you mean that these people don’t think people should have showers for 2nd, 3rd, 4th babies or do you mean multiple showers during one pregnancy? Either way I think it’s fine. This is my first pregnancy and I had a shower that my family/friends threw me and my work is throwing me another in a few weeks. I didn’t know my coworkers were planning one until after i already had my family one.

For everyone saying that it’s selfish and tacky and that having multiple showers is for the gifts but it’s not 🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s about celebrating your new baby and spending time with friends and family I had a baby shower for my first and didn’t expect gifts at all I just wanted to celebrate my baby have fun eat some food and play some games with my family and friends I’m pregnant with my second baby and my step mom wants to throw me another shower for this one to why? Cause we are celebrating another life a new addition to my growing family

People are so annoying, and  find anything to complain about. If my friend had multiple baby showers for her baby I'm coming to all of them and I'm bringing a gift everytime. There's nothing wrong with having multiple babyshower for 1 baby or for multiple babies why not🤷🏾‍♀️

I don’t see why not? I had one with my first and most likely will have one for my second to mostly cause my step mom begged me to let her throw the shower and I’m only 3 weeks now and she’s already making baby shower plans 🤷🏼‍♀️ my step mom always loves to go all out and celebrate things specially when it comes to babies as she has pcos and has been trying for 7 years to have another baby it makes her happy to celebrate life of a new baby ❤️

I've had one shower this pregnancy already and having my second this Saturday. Reason being is because ALL of my family lives 8hrs+ away from me.. I have no family members on my side that live remotely close. I  was visiting my family back in April and my sister and mother threw me a surprise shower at 20 weeks I had no idea and it was absolutely perfect I'm so happy I got to share that moment with my side of the family.. Now I'll be 35 weeks having my second shower with my husbands family and my friends and I'm so grateful that I get to share this moment with them too. It's not about the gifts for me. It's about celebrating baby with family and friends and since mine are in two different places why not !!!

I see zero issue with having multiple showers for one baby, and I see zero issue having a baby shower for every new baby that is born. Every baby deserves to be celebrated and have new things. For my first child I had three baby showers (only one was planned, the rest were a surprise). My friends have had several for their children, and I attend every single one I am invited to and I don’t mind bringing gifts.
No one is obligated to attend a baby shower. If you do not want to attend more than one then don’t. But it’s not your business if someone wants to have multiple showers. Not your baby, not your life.

I want to have baby showers for all of my children. I just had one for my first. I would just put on the invite for future showers that we don't want gifts, we just want to celebrate each child.

If you're having your second and it's a different gender, I think it's very helpful. If there's years between kids (like my cousins are 10 years apart) I'm sure by the time the second one comes along, most people have gotten rid of most baby stuff and could really use another shower.
For myself, if I have another boy three years apart from my current baby boy, I won't ask anybody for a shower or throw myself one, but if anybody was to offer I'd just ask for a simple diaper party, no fuss 🤷‍♀️
All of that being said.... WHY DO WE CARE SO MUCH WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE DOES🤦‍♀️

I’d say not if you different guest lists. We live on the other side of the country from our families. If we get pregnant we’d have one here with our friends and one back in our home state with our families.
