Bringing 4 week old to the beach?

I hate the water, and the beach really. But the rest of my family loves it and is insisting that we all go to the beach this weekend. Its suppose to be around 85. Should I bring our daughter or should I stay home? I would obviously bring something for shade.

We took our LO out at 3 weeks and i am the same not a huge fan of the beach but it felt so nice to be out with my family.  The beaches here in Wisconsin are usually covered in shade in some areas and they have a park and walking trails connected.  While my husband was in the water with our 4 year old i sat in the shade with baby or walked around with her in the stroller. I made sure to keep her cool by staying in the shade or keeping a cover over her stroller to keep it nice and cool. I remember though seeing another mom there with 4 kids all close in age they all looked about 2 years apart with the youngest about maybe 6 months and she was alone with no help and i will never forget thinking how amazing that mom was doing and how relaxed she seemed and how nervous i felt.

I took my babe to the beach several times on our week long vacation, but she was 6 weeks old. She slept in the tent we brought and had a portable fan blowing on her. We also brought our dock-a-tot for her to lounge in. She was fine but it was a lot of work for us, especially not knowing what kind of mood she would be in that day. I would say go with your instincts. We wound up deciding to come home a little early because it got to be less relaxing and more like work. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would stay home. I let my husband talk me into a week-long family vacation with his side at 4 weeks and almost had a mental breakdown. I really regret it.
Sure, it's just for a day, but you're still recovering from birth, probably sleep deprived, and setting a routine for your kid. Not to mention he's still too young to be vaccinated yet! If they want to see your kid, they can come visit you.

I took mine at 4 weeks to the pool and it was fine.👍 only a couple hours

We went just for the day this weekend (4 weeks as well). Baby and I stayed out with her in the shade for about 30-40 mins and then I took her back to the car in the a/c. We live in south Florida so it’s too hot for her to be out for too long. Still glad we went though.

If it's not too long of a drive, I'd plan to go for a short visit but not stay all day. Bring your own car so you can leave whenever. Make sure you and baby stay hydrated!
