Doctors Not Doing Anything (UPDATE)

El

I posted a couple days ago about doctors not doing anything to help my baby girl who was throwing up. They simply told me to feed her less. Which, if you met my baby when she was hungry, you’d see why that would be impossible.

Here’s what I did:

I took the nurse’s advice. (Who mentioned that it was not medical advice, just mom to mom advice)

I switched my baby girl over to the sensitive formula (if anyone wants the name, I’ll go look. Just don’t feel like getting up to check right now) I also cut her back from 4oz to 3oz.

On the similac pro advance, she would still cry after having only 3oz. She was eating 4oz every 2 hours and sometimes hungry in between. She was spitting up, throwing up, choking, just miserable! She wasn’t losing any weight though, she’s actually grown 2inches in 5weeks and 3lbs. This is why I felt she was not over eating.

Since switching her to the sensitive formula, she will go 3 hours between feedings on her own. She hasn’t spit up since. She is still pretty gassy, but seems like she’s struggling slightly less to poop.

She even slept from 9:30pm to 5:30am!!!! I wasn’t expecting this, so tonight I will set an alarm to feed her depending on when she falls asleep.

She’s a much happier baby! The only thing that bothers me is that I had a feeling I should switch her before she started throwing up. But, my fiancé didn’t want to mess with her formula.

Moral of the story: trust your momma instincts!!! Of course, always take into consideration dad’s opinion. But if you feel strongly about something, make it known.
