I'm a bit worried about this...

I'm 37 and my period has always been heavy. Last month I had a lighter than normal period. It still lasted a week though and I thought it was one of my lighter cycles because sometimes I'll have one that I bleed lightly for a few days, no cramps. This cycle is acting the same way as last month. I'm calling my GYN today to set up my annual check up and I plan on asking about it but zi wanted to get opinions from my peers first.
