HSG painful??

Are these really bad as they say there are?

My tubes were clear.  I was on a pain killer, muscle relaxer, and Xanax.  It was one of the most 2 painful experiences I've ever been through.  I will never do one again without being put under; my doc agrees.

It was a very uncomfortable 10 min. I breathed through it and clenched my shirt. I took ibuprofen before. My tubes were clear though

Also... do not wear light or white colored pants!!! Lol that was my mistake, the contrast fluid will get on your pants!! Be prepared

I just got home from mine, I’m a baby when it comes to pain down there... I will say it was uncomfortable then anything else. I had an IUD put in a few years ago ( that was excruciating) I was expecting the same kind of pain, it was nothing like that. 
Expect to feel some scratching and some pressure(mild mild cramping) it is bearable discomfort, Good luck!

I didn’t think it was painful at all. I did stand up after and thought I peed all over myself though 😂. I didn’t have any cramping at all after.

My friend scared me so badly about it. I took Advil and Tylenol prior to the procedure and honestly it was not that bad and pretty quick.

Mine didn’t hurt at all-I didn’t even realized they had started and they were done. It really depends on the person, and since you don’t know which kind you’ll be, just don’t worry! I took 1000mg ibuprofen an hour beforehand like my doc suggested and I’d recommend the same.

My first one they couldnt complete the test because my cervix was closed and he tried several different ways and nurse tried pushing on my stomach to get it to go on. As uncomfortable as all that way, it didnt really hurt.
I'm going today for a second attempt after being dilated. So hopefully they can complete the test

If your tubes are open, it’s not painful. Only if they are blocked. Take a valium or muscle relaxant to relax during the procedure.
Just to put it into perspective: compared to a uterine biopsy, it’s like nothing.
