Matilda too popular? 🇬🇧

Question

My husband and I really like this name. It’s one of the only girls names we have agreed on. My health visitor sort of put me off by saying she had heard of a quite a few of those recently.
UK baby name lists suggests it’s in the 40s out of top 100 so not too popular. I just don’t want my kid being 1 of 5 in her class at school.

I have only taught one Matilda in 12 years of teaching in England. I really don't think it's popular at the moment at all.

I don't know how it is in the UK, but popular names today is no where near as popular back in the 90's fx.
So many want their child to have a unique name and avoid the most popular ones, that it might be popular but not as many will have the name necessarily..
Do yourself a favor and pick the name you love and don't think too much about how popular it is 😊

I loooove Matilda! Tillie is the cutest nickname! I’ve only heard of one Matilda in my 6 years teaching.

I’m a teacher (year 3) and in all the years of teaching I’ve not had a single Matilda in any of my classes. Saying that, it might be more popular now with younger children/babies. 
I know what you mean about name popularity though - we chose a name that neither myself of husband had any personal assassination with. Needless to say it took us some time to decide and I really thought our son would be nameless at birth at one point 🙈
