Period is now 6 days late.

My period is late by 6 days now. My period always comes every 34 days but it is day 40 of my cycle. I went to my primary care doctor and she said I should go see a gynecologist. There isn’t one near me that will see teens and I’ve also been advised to look and see if there is a plan parenthood near me. There is one a couple hours away but my parents say I should just wait it out. I’m becoming uncomfortable with how long this has been going on for. I know it’s only 6 days but I’ve had my period for 6 years now and not ever once has it been earlier or later than 34 days. Advice?
