My boyfriend is very uncomfortable with showing affection in front of people. This includes stuff like social media too. He's very affectionate to me when we're alone, but around others, he gets a little distant. Most people think we're just close friends when we meet because that's the way he acts with me in public.

I know it's stupid and doesn't matter, but everybody's boyfriends made these cute little posts for national girlfriend day on Instagram. I just wish I could have that. One post on Insta saying he loves me. Or even something as simple as holding hands when my friends are around. I want people to know how in love we are.

Am I being silly for wanting this? I brought it up once and he said our relationship was nobody's business but our own. I get that, but I can't seem to shake my jealousy for couples in more openly loving relationships.
