Do you wake your (young) dog before you go to bed to take them to the bathroom?

For example im tired and want to get to bed and he is asleep too but hasn’t been outside since around 5;30 (it’s now 8:45) so do I wake him so he doesn’t potentially wake me later or have an accident?? And we will wake up around 6 am 
I just feel like waking a sleeping puppy (he’s about a year give or take) is the same as waking a sleeping baby lmao it’s so rare he’s not tearing into anything or biting me 🤔😩
It also irritates me when I take him outside and walk him around forever and he doesn’t even do anything

Yes I would. I do that with my almost 2 year old (he never has accidents) but just so he won’t wake us up in the night. He usually goes outside, potties really quick, and comes back inside and falls right back asleep lol

My dog is going going to be 4 this December and I still make it a point to let her outside before I go to bed. Even if she’s asleep I’ll wake her. She’s a small breed and I’ve learned in the past that if I don’t let her out before I go to bed she’ll wake me up in the middle of the night and need to go 😊

Yes, we take them to the bathroom every night. Preferably as late as possible because then we can sleep in a bit but regardless if whether they're sleeping or not, they get taken outside.

Yeap i do it with mine too. Shes just over a year old. I saw in the comments that yours takes too long, teach him a word for "pee" and it will make your life easier. I literally go outside with mine, tell her "pee" she pees, we go in and its done! It became a routine for us now so i dont even need to say anything. I just stand at the door, she pees and comes inside. 
Shouldnt take long for him to catch up and learn what it is and once u manage to get him to just pee quickly before bed and go back in, he will catch on and it can become a routine.
