Memberane sweep at 40 weeks?

Hi ladies, when you went for a 40 weeks appt were you offered a sweep? Or was another day set for it to be done? I know everywhere is different but I want a rough idea please.

My 40 week appointment with the midwife was exactly on my due date and they offer me a sweep. (The appointment was at our GP office not the hospital) I was lucky it started these moving and our little one arrived the next day

If it's a community midwife appointment then no,they dont offer or do them in case something goes wrong. If it's at the hospital in maternity unit then they might offer you one. Didnt work for me though and I had 3 I think. Had to be induced at 41+4 had LO 41+6.

I just had my 38week appointment and we've already booked my 40 week one 3 days after my due date to be sweep too

I was told on my last appointment the one before my 40 week appointment that I can accept the sweep if I want to.
However I ended up getting induced so that ended up not happening.

My midwife did offer at my 40 week appointment. In my area 1st time mum's don't get offered until 41 weeks and 2nd time mum's can have it from 40 weeks. I had mild cramps and have lost my plug due to (I believe) my sweep done at 40+2 but I'm now 40+6 and still pregnant. My 1st was born at 40+2 with no sweep.

I’m in south east England and I was offered a sweep at 39 +1 weeks. Its midwife discretion, they can do it but also they don’t have to

I had one at my 40 week appointment with midwife at doctors. Mine worked and I had my daughter the following morning. Will see what happens with my 2nd!

I had one at my 40wk and 41wk appointment.
Didn't work so ended up being induced at 42wks.

I didn’t end up having my 40w appointment as I gave birth at 39+2. However, I was told by the midwife at the last appointment I had that I would be offered a sweep at the 40 week appointment and again at 41week if I needed it.
