Oscar....cute name or ruined by “Oscar the grouch”?

I love the name Oscar but my friends’ immediate reaction was “oh, like Oscar the grouch!”. 
Please let me know if this name is a dud or not. 
I like it so much but don’t want my child to think I named him after the Sesame Street character who lives in a trash can.

I think it's an older name LOL but I don't think it's ruined because Oscar the Grouch I think it's just ruined because personally I'm not a big fan of the name
