Measuring ahead by a lot?

Question

I’m 28 weeks but my midwife measured my uterus and my fundal height was 35. As far as I’m aware the number of cm tend to go hand in hand with how many weeks you are?
She told me to not worry about it as it can be combo of water, baby, me etc but compared to some women on here I feel like that’s a big difference?
Anyone else been in this position?

That is a significant difference. Did your doctor mention ordering an ultrasound to see if you have an excessive amount of amniotic fluid or to see if baby is large?

I was measuring at 31w at my 28w appointment.  My midwife said if I continue to measure ahead at the next, we’ll do an ultrasound just to make sure I don’t have excess fluid.  Maybe inquire about that.

That’s a big difference. I’m 29 weeks and measured at 31cm. I honestly think my original due date was closer to correct. It was October 5th and they changed it to the 15th after my first ultrasound. All of my measurements so far have made way more sense for a due date of the 5th. 🤷‍♀️

Opposite of you, but i measured 5 weeks small with my second child for a few appointments in a row. They did a growth scan to double check everything. Things looked good and he was born 6 lbs 12 Oz, so slightly smaller than average but not as tiny as you would’ve thought given my measurements.

I’m right there with ya, but you are measuring considerably larger. I think as you get closer to your due date it when they could schedule an ultrasound to see what’s making you so large. (Baby or fluid) I’m 28 weeks and measuring 32, and at 24 weeks I was measuring 28. So since I’ve consistently been 4 weeks ‘ahead’ my doctor just thinks the baby has a lot of room and isn’t worried yet.

When I was 23 weeks, I measured 28 weeks, but my 25 and 27 week appointments measured me at 28 too. They said they would only send me for additional testing if I consistently had larger measurements. I go again on Tuesday and I can tell my stomach is bigger. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don’t measure too large again.
