My boyfriend is doing an internship at a trade union, He got this intern with the help of his mom - she knew a woman that worked there and she got him in but bare in mind she is not a close family friend - his mom just casually knows her bcus their workplaces are in the same building.

This woman is the “manager” of the place and she is 27 years old. My boyfriend and I are 22.

So before he started his intern, he went for an “informal” interview, and after it, she texted him saying thanks for coming and so with this emoji at the end “😘” - i thought it was weird and unprofessional - at least my managers never sent me those emojis.

Now, today when he came back home, she texted him again on Whatsapp saying things like “what did u think of today? Are u enjoying it?” - this seems alright but still, why text him? She can just ask face to face, professionally at work.

I don’t know if it’s just me but i feel like she over texts him (and always with emojis, not like formal texts)

Do you think this is normal?
