IUD stopped period

I got my IUD inserted on the third day of my period. About four hours after it was placed I stopped bleeding. It’s been 4 days and I still haven’t bled so I’m guessing it ended my period. My periods usually last 5 days so this was unusual especially since I heard that the IUD causes heavy bleeding after placement. I’m still having heavy cramping and back pain after 4 days of having it and oddly enough... I still smell that “period smell” but I haven’t bled for 4 days. Is this normal? Anyone have any advice or ideas?
