So recently my boyfriend of 4 years and I bought a house together. He doesn't have a whole lot to his bank account and my savings is pretty well set. That being said, I paid the down payment and I have also bought our new furniture and washer and dryer. Not a big deal, I really didnt mind as we planned to join our accounts after moving in anyways.

However, he plays games on his phone and while I was looking through his bank account (he was there he knew I was looking at it) I realized in the last 2 months he spent over $450 dollars just on a video game just to "make it more fun and so he can do more".

I guess I'm just a little upset because he could have put that money into our house and helping me pay for things. I dont know, I just feel ill right now. He always told me the most he would spend on his games was like $20 a month if that. And now to find this out?! I'm just upset and I really just want to cry. I dont know what to do right now. I really am second guessing about joining our accounts at this point until I can see that he isnt spending money like that. I voiced my concern and he realizes what he did was wrong and told me he won't spend money on his game like that anymore but I just still feel a little hurt by it.

Maybe it is petty to feel this way but I just feel betrayed. Like he let me pay for everything, telling me he was trying to help the best he could and I believed him. He gave me some money to help but not even a quarter of what we had spent. Then learning that he spent $450 for no reason. Grrr. 😪
