Provera and metformin?

So... I got diagnosed with PCOS, and often have extremely irregular cycles. I'm currently 21 days late and my doctor called in a prescription for 28 provera pills. He also put me on metformin. Can j take them both at once? And when can I expect to ovulate after the provera induces a period?

I'm so confused and overwhelmed. I wish I knew what was going on with my body, and how to help it do what I need it to do.
