Who here uses the app for safe sex or trying to conceive ? I’m catholic and we are not allowed to use birth control. I use the app to avoid getting pregnant but have also used it to have my kids. Is it wrong to use birth control

I’m sorry but you are allowed to use birth control if you want. Being Catholic  does mean you can’t. That is a man made rule and not a God rule. If you wanna use it and not get prego then use it.

I use the app for birth control (natural family planning). I don’t believe in birth control for health reasons and natural family planning has worked great for us. Read the book “taking charge of your fertility”.

Fellow Catholic here and while the church technically doesn’t condone birth control I don’t think it’s wrong. In fact there are churchmen who are more advanced in their teachings and approve of birth control. Regardless, you dont need the approval of the church to use birth control. I’m actually on the IUD right now. I know of several Catholics who use birth control. If you want to continue using the family planning method I strongly encourage you start charting your BBT and using OPK strips. Using just the app isn’t wise as it’s an estimate. You may ovulate a week or a week later than planned and get pregnant. But the best way to prevent a pregnancy is birth control. Be it a condom, IUD, shot, pill, or the arm implant. They are 98-99 percent effective. You choose what you’re comfortable with but I genuinely do not believe you’re wrong if you want to use birth control.
