Newborn sleeping through the night
My newborn is 12 days old. She was born 6 lb 14 oz, at her first appointment (at 6 days old) she weighed 7lb 2oz. She is a great eater and I’m sure up a few more oz since her last appointment. I am having the hardest time waking her up for feedings in the middle of the night! We go to bed about 10:30-11 every night, I’ll set an alarm for me to get up around 3am to feed her. She does not wake up on her own and it takes me about 30 minutes to get her awake to feed. I’ll undress and change her diaper but she’d rather stay asleep. Once I do get her up she latches no problem and will eat at least 20 minutes but getting her to wake up is tough. Everything I google says she needs to eat every few hours, is it bad she’s sometimes going about 5 without eating? If it were up to her I think she’d sleep 8-9 hours without waking! But again she’s eating and latching so well snd gaining healthy weight! Anyone else here can relate?? How do you wake your babies and should it be this hard to wake them to feed?
