Other people offering holds of my baby
My father always seems to randomly ask anyone in the extended family who’s in the room if they want to hold my young baby. I secretly feel annoyed every time as I don’t like the baby being handled by lots of people in one go and it’s not his baby to offer holds plus it makes me feel frustrated that he’s ignoring that I’m the one gets to decide if and when people hold them, not him and I might not want to give my baby to someone else at that moment for whatever reason which is why I havent offered myself. It makes it awkward for me and the other person. I’m not really sure how to handle it. I want to just ask him not to offer holds of my baby if I haven’t said that person can hold them as it’s my choice and I don’t want everyone who we see holding them as I don’t feel it’s fair on my baby but at the same time I don’t want to be confrontational. What are your thoughts and how would you deal with it. So far I’ve managed to avoid handing him over to people I don’t want to hold him or the other person has said they don’t want to but I think he’ll continue to offer him to everyone.
