Possibility of Down syndrome shown on ultrasound, very scared and need help!

Hey everyone,

I had my anatomy scan just yesterday, I’m 18 weeks, and thought everything was going great. Our pictures were sent off to a bigger hospital before we could leave and a specialty doctor talked to my husband and I over the phone. She said that she wasn’t seeing a nasal bone and wanted to personally redo the ultrasound. So we went up there the same day and she overall seen an absent nasal bone and that the bowel was a bit brighter than it should be, she called it ‘bright’ bowel. She said individually these may mean nothing, but since they are showing up together she had concerns for Down syndrome. We talked to a genetic counselor and decided on doing the NIPT screening. We should get those results this week sometime and we have another US at the end of this month. I included some pictures from our US so hopefully someone can tell me their opinion on the nasal bone/bright bowel or just your own story if anyone has gone through this. This is very scary for me being a first time mom and having 2 prior miscarriages. Thank you for any help/advice.
